Transit board to vote on raising bus, cutting rail fares - Austin American Statesman
Capital Metro bus fares likely are headed up for the third time in just over two years. Fares for struggling MetroRail are going down. The Capital Metro board, which in September approved a 2010-11 budget that assumed fares would increase in January, will consider and likely approve today hikes for many of its bus fares. And for the first time since the 1980s, that would include charging seniors and people with disabilities for rides, according to documents on the agency’s website.
