South Korea’s handheld market is dominated by Samsung and Pantech, which according to Bloomberg have a 90 percent market share in South Korea. Nearly 90 percent of South Korea’s population owns a mobile phone.

In a press release, Kim Woo-sik, CEO of KT Corp’s personal customer group said, “We are thrilled to bring iPhone to South Korea. Our customers will enjoy the power and benefits of using the revolutionary iPhone on KT’s 3G network.”

Microsoft and News Corp in Discussions to Remove Newspaper Content from Google - Mashable.com:

Rupert Murdoch’s crusade to blame Google for the failing newspaper business model continues today, as it emerges that News Corp has conducted talks with Microsoft about de-indexing the company’s sites from Google and (presumably) being paid to include them in Bing instead.

The concept makes sense only if you buy Murdoch’s claims that Google is “stealing” content rather than simply helping people find it.

Detroit was given the untimed play because safety Hank Poteat was called for pass interference in the end zone when Stafford heaved a desperation attempt. Stafford was hit after his throw to the end zone and appeared to hurt his left shoulder or chest area. He was replaced by Daunte Culpepper .

The Browns, though, gave Stafford a chance to get back in the game by calling a timeout with the ball at the 1-yard line. Stafford returned and connected with fellow rookie Pettigrew to snap Detroit’s six-game losing streak.

The Lions (2-8) started the winning drive with 1:46 remaining and no timeouts. Stafford, the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, did just enough to rally them for the win - helped hugely by the call that went against the Browns (1-9).

AOL said in a regulatory filing that the job cuts were meant to save about $300 million a year. It will take a $200 million restructuring charge to account for the severance costs. The company said it would ask for volunteers first, and then resort to layoffs if it did not get roughly 2,500 people to accept a buyout package.

Tim Armstrong, who became AOL’s chairman and chief executive in March after a successful and lucrative stint at Google, told employees in an e-mail message that he would not accept a bonus this year.

Channel 4 to make more standalone web content under new remit | guardian.co.uk :

Kevin Lygo, the director of content and television at Channel 4, outlined changes to the broadcaster’s public service remit that will be published in full in today’s digital economy bill. These include the introduction of a commitment to film production.

Speaking at The Media Festival in Manchester earlier today, he said the channel had always had a commitment to film and online – despite its remit not specifically mentioning the two platforms.
